George started recording song demos at Hurtle in mid-2004. He writes excellent blues songs, plays a
mean blues guitar and has a great voice. He has finished his first Hurtle album "Old Fat Harry Blues"
and he is currently working on another one.
George started playing rock and pop music in school bands in the late 1960s then with various bands around Hamilton, Napier and Hastings in the early 70s.
From the mid-70s to the early 80s he played in the Melbourne pub rock scene. He then went to complete a 2-year music theory certificate with the Polytech band
‘Toi Whaakari’ in Hamilton. He dropped out of band gigs in 1999. His interest in music was renewed when he met John Bisset through a mutual friend
in 2004. He discovered his passion for blues music and has been learning how to play blues guitar and writing blues and blues/rock songs. He is currently
working on his second album of original blues songs with John at Hurtle.
