Hurtle Music Studio began as John Bisset's home studio in 2004. John started making demos
of his original songs and other songwriters began asking him to help them create demos of
their material. They were either in John's immediate circle of acquaintances or were
referred to him by one of them.
Demand grew over the years and John has been able to buy better software and hardware.
His living room is now a bedsit and his bedroom is a studio. The built-in bedroom wardrobe
is now a vocal booth.
Rosie, his elderly Jack Russell cross, welcomes each songwriter - the ones bearing food
get closer scrutiny. One of her nicknames is Hurtle. She often hurtles herself from one
place to another with little regard for a soft landing. She insists on sitting behind
John on the studio chair when he is working. At the time of writing the vet has pronounced
that Rosie will not be around much longer. That is where the name Hurtle came from.
If you are a local (Hamilton, New Zealand) songwriter and would like to make inexpensive
demos of your songs, please use the 'Contact us' link.
